The Fleshtones

On May 27, 2026 at La Laiterie in Strasbourg, The Fleshtones bring back their direct, no‑nonsense New York garage rock. Formed in 1976 in the Queens around Peter Zaremba and Keith Streng, the band grew up amid the punk and new wave buzz of clubs like CBGB and Max’s Kansas City. Their trademark: a sound they sum up as “Super Rock,” fed by rhythm and blues, surf and power pop, with cutting guitars, a prominent organ, straightforward backing vocals and driving tempos.

Now settled around Zaremba, Streng, Bill Milhizer and Ken Fox, The Fleshtones have kept up a steady pace of touring and recording, from Roman Gods and Hexbreaker! in the early ’80s to Wheel of Talent, The Band Drinks for Free and Face of the Screaming Werewolf. Live, the band keeps things essential, plays tight and draws from a setlist honed for the stage, where the energy of ’60s rock meets immediate, no‑frills songwriting.
