On 18 May 2026, Weatherday, the noise-pop project of the Swedish artist Lola, also known as Sputnik, takes over the Supersonic, 9 rue Biscornet, Paris’s 12th arrondissement. Born in the DIY scene, Weatherday blends lo-fi, emo and shoegaze into shifting songs marked by layered guitars, saturated textures and abrupt transitions.

After Come In (2019) and Weatherglow (2022, a collaboration with Asian Glow), Lola returns with Hornet Disaster, an album threaded with an obsession with hornets. The 19 tracks juxtapose nervous accelerations and unexpected detours, sometimes in Swedish, with bursts of Renaissance flute or touches of folktronica. The single “Angel” unfolds with a brisk emo drive, while “Heartbeats” takes a more downtempo path under the influence of The Knife.

Onstage, Weatherday stretches this maximalism in their own way: jarring passages, fragile melodies, battered drums and filtered vocals converse without aiming for a straight line. A show for those who navigate the space between Xiu Xiu, Car Seat Headrest and Teen Suicide.
