RUBII MOVED TO THE MOD CLUB

RUBII comes from a family of musicians in the UK and builds a sound where hip‑hop, neo‑soul and RnB meet, with a light garage tint. Her voice is poised and melodic, often doubled with close harmonies over intimate, low‑key productions. The writing is conversational and introspective, like pages from a diary, circling relationships, doubt and the small adjustments of everyday life. After the studio debut Bitter Lips, she shaped her path with short formats: the 2020 EP Repose set a warm, soul‑first base; Olive Green in 2023 pulled the beats closer to hip‑hop; and Change & Remain (2024) explored the in‑between, where melodic rap leans into hushed neo‑soul. Tracks like BOTB, Fool, Jealousy, Dreams or Night Drive sketch this balance between rhythmic drive and emotional nuance.

RUBII brings this palette to The Mod Club in Toronto on March 14, 2026. On stage, she moves fluidly from groove‑led cuts to slow‑burn confessions, working with minimal drums, bass lines that breathe and stacked vocals that keep the focus on the writing. The set favors detail over volume, letting the melodies and phrasing do the work without excess.
