Dany Boon returns to the stage after seven years away. With Clown is Not a Profession, he revisits his childhood dream: making people laugh without artifice, relying solely on his eye for observation and his way of capturing those little moments that derail everyday life. His taste for family situations, couple rituals, the office, the city, words that go off-track and accents that pop up is still present—everything that, told in his manner, becomes material for a sketch.

This new one-man show mixes confessions and acted scenes, between memory and the present. Dany Boon takes up the word “clown” to examine what it reveals about the comedian’s craft, from embraced clumsiness to a gag that lands, with writing that gets straight to the point and a lively pace. Without forced nostalgia or gimmicks, he returns to what launched him: stories, sketched characters, and an attentive ear to the audience.
