Info

Thomas Azier presents PANORAMA, accompanied by Annelotte Coster on keyboards, Maarten Hogenhuis on saxophone, Adrien Pallot on modular synthesizer and a string ensemble. The project blends voice, electronics and acoustic instruments in a format conceived for the stage.

Conceived as a suite of shifts in scale, PANORAMA moves from the intimate to broader mental landscapes. It touches on illness, desire, fear and hope, placed side by side like snapshots from the same period.

The performance unfolds as a polyphonic narrative: poems, field recordings, projections and stage gestures shift the conventions of the concert toward a fragmented, collage-like form.

Azier here pursues his melodic streak and a distinct melancholy, putting string arrangements in dialogue with experimental practices. His voice, treated as an instrument, moves between registers and timbres, while the songs open into interludes that constantly recompose the ensemble’s tempo, in a channel‑surfing manner.

The whole is played in a single movement: music and images rarely cross over and instead take turns, allowing the musicians to gradually assemble an overall picture that is at once clear and intimate.
