Info

Hollie Cook brings her lovers rock back to New Morning Paris on 7 April 2026. Fifteen years after her debut album on Mr Bongo, the British singer returns to the label with Shy Girl, a very personal fifth album conceived as an analogue-reggae stroll through love in all its forms. It features tight grooves, simple, catchy melodies, and that warm voice that has shaped her tropical-pop signature.

Written with her long-standing collaborators, The General Roots Band, Shy Girl took shape between Los Angeles, New York, Vejer de la Frontera and London. Dub MC Horseman lends his voice to "Night Night," while the title track, "Shy Girl," opens the album with a supple, luminous energy. Between the deep dub of "Frontline" and the roots ballad "We Share Love," Hollie Cook adopts a more stripped-back, direct vocal approach, where vulnerability becomes the very material of her songs.

Daughter of Paul Cook (Sex Pistols), a veteran of tours with The Slits and nourished by London’s sound-system culture, she draws as much from Janet Kay as from Phyllis Dillon. On stage, this story is heard in a polished, precise reggae sound that places songwriting at the centre. See her at New Morning Paris to experience Shy Girl live.
