Sergent Garcia

Sergent Garcia will be appearing at L'Athanor Albi on Friday, March 13, 2026. A leading figure of the Franco-Latin scene since the late 1990s, he blends salsa, cumbia, reggae, ska and ragga into a sound he calls salsamuffin. Between guitar riffs, prominent brass and rolling percussion, his concerts move between a sound-system spirit and tropical warmth. He alternates between French and Spanish, slips in nods to Caribbean and South American music, and brings to the stage the energy of Latin barrios as much as that of rock venues.

Over the course of his albums he has carved out a borderless path, multiplying collaborations and drawing on rhythms from Colombia, Cuba and Mexico. On stage the groove is collective, driven by a taut rhythm section, bouncing bass lines and brass that answer the vocals.
