Terno Rei - La Boule Noire

Terno Rei has carved out a distinctive place on the Brazilian alternative scene. Formed in São Paulo in 2010, the quartet comprises Ale Sater (vocals, bass), Bruno Paschoal (guitar, vocals, synths), Greg Maya (guitar, synths) and Luis Cardoso (drums, vocals). Their blend of dream pop, post-punk and alternative rock carries intimate lyrics that balance melancholy and lucidity. See them in concert on 5 March 2026 at La Boule Noire in Paris.

With Nenhuma Estrela, released in 2025 on Balaclava Records, Terno Rei condenses ten years of sonic exploration and sketches out new directions. Produced by Gustavo Schirmer and mixed by Nicolas Vernhes (The War on Drugs, Wild Nothing, Deerhunter), the album leans toward 1980s and 1990s atmospheres: finely etched guitars, enveloping synths, touches of trip hop, acoustic ballads and hushed pop, with echoes of The Blue Nile or Prefab Sprout. It also features Lô Borges of Clube da Esquina on “Relógio,” where a clear vocal line interlocks with slightly psychedelic guitars. Terno Rei arrives in Paris with this recent material—introspective yet open songs ready to unfold on stage.
