Info
Franz Ferdinand returns to L'Olympia in Paris on 25 and 26 March 2026. Formed in Glasgow, the band led by Alex Kapranos has crafted a blend of sharp post-punk and dance impulses, where angular guitars, dry bass and tight drums push the songs toward the dancefloor. Their signature tracks — from "Take Me Out" to "Do You Want To", via "This Fire" and "No You Girls" — have established a recognisable sound of disco-punk syncopations, abrupt breaks and punchy, straightforward choruses. On stage, the collective delivers a taut, precise sequence, playing on contrasts, sudden stops and restarts that accelerate the pace.
Around Alex Kapranos and bassist Bob Hardy, the current lineup brings together Julian Corrie and Dino Bardot on guitars and keyboards, with Audrey Tait on drums, creating an equilibrium in which the rhythm section holds the line and lets the riffs cut to the essentials. At L'Olympia, the setlist navigates between early material and more recent releases, maintaining the compact, direct and danceable songwriting that made the Scottish band famous. It’s an opportunity to dive back into a repertoire built for live performance, without unnecessary effects, and with the efficiency that has characterised them since their first singles.
