David Lafore

David Lafore performs his songs at Le Sémaphore in Trébeurden on 28 March 2026. A singer-songwriter with crisp, mischievous writing, he plays with melancholy without getting lost in it, slipping a touch of saudade into texts that are superficially simple but traversed by detours and hidden depths. On stage he willingly blurs the lines: a recital that flirts with theatre, poetry that playfully disrupts the burlesque, confidences and asides that give the music as much room to breathe as the silences. His agile voice slips from one register to another and carries the pieces into unexpected territories. At his side is Gildas Etevenard, drummer and singer, who has notably crossed paths with Akosh in the free-jazz scene. Whether tight or caressing, with percussion and backing vocals, he thickens the texture and illuminates the songs’ nuances. The set traces fractured lines—from punk-rock nerve to groovier pulses—before settling on stretches of sensitivity. At the center is Lafore’s songwriting, which sets the course and holds everything together, between gentle irony and a precise gaze on the world.
