Florence Mendez

Florence Mendez arrives at Altigone Saint-Orens-de-Gameville on April 11, 2026 with Délicate, a stand-up show in which she turns her difference and vulnerabilities into material for laughter. As part of the Printemps du Rire, the Belgian plays it straight: “You can never tell stupid people often enough that they’re stupid,” she declares, before unfolding her story of rejection, diagnoses and winding detours.

With dry repartee and a keen eye, she upends norms, observes everyday stupidity and revels in the situations that snag. No lessons, a direct voice, razor-sharp punchlines and a desire to explain what it concretely means to live outside the boxes.

The author of a debut novel praised by Amélie Nothomb, Florence Mendez also joined Radio Nova alongside Pierre-Emmanuel Barré, Aymeric Lompret and Guillaume Meurice. On stage she retains the same clarity: sensitive yet unfiltered, precise without beating around the bush, she forges her own path and invites the audience to look differently at what unsettles them.
