Info
Elie Semoun returns with Cactus, a new show that lives up to its name. After thirty years on stage, he shifts toward a more present, stand-up style without abandoning his characters, the trademark he’s carried since the start of his career. The program includes Jean Abdul, who will open the show; a son accompanying his father on a nursing home visit; Xavier, who has a motor disability and introduces his wife to his mother; a father unsettled by his son’s transition; and a karate teacher whose prejudices bubble to the surface. Sexual harassment, religion, taboos and intolerance become material for stories told with precise language and meticulously timed changes of persona.
On April 17, 2026, at the Pasino Partouche in La Grande-Motte, Elie Semoun presents this eighth show, blending sharp portraits with everyday observations. The tone grows more direct, the stage serving as a test ground to try out angles, probe sensitive spots and bring situations to life that resonate. Cactus threads its line between irony and seriousness, without detours or excess, with the sense of timing and ellipses that characterizes the French comedian.
