Ahmed Sylla « Origami »

Ahmed Sylla presents Origami, a show in which he folds and unfolds his journey as one would shape a sheet of paper. Our destinies resemble shifting forms, dictated by choices, joys, sorrows, victories and failures. After more than ten years of bending over backwards to try to make us double over, he examines the path that brought him to the stage, and amuses himself by imagining what might have changed had he not left his hometown. Without dwelling, he retraces the forks in the road, probes the grey areas of everyday life, and plays with rhythm, gestures and narrative.

Between confidences and detours, he conjures characters, memories and situations in which anyone can recognise themselves, like folds that redraw the same sheet. The writing advances through angles and reversals, with a precision that lets energy and a sense of repartee circulate. Ahmed Sylla will be at L’Olympia in Paris on October 29, 2026, for a moment when the art of folding becomes a unifying thread—a way of telling what shapes us and of reassessing what seemed predetermined.
