Info
On 23 May 2027, Memphis May Fire and Dead by April will perform at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht for an evening in which metalcore and melody tightly alternate.
Memphis May Fire, formed in Dallas, have been crafting a sound with heavy riffs, sharp breaks, and choruses that stick around since Sleepwalking and The Hollow. With vocalist Matty Mullins at the helm, the band shifts effortlessly between raw screams and clean, emotional lines. In recent work such as Remade in Misery, you can hear that drive toward a more aggressive approach, while the emphasis on song structure and hooks remains.
Dead by April, hailing from Gothenburg, brings a modern mix of metalcore, post-hardcore and pop-influenced melodies, often with electronic textures and a glossy production. The band plays on the contrast between clean singing and harsh vocals, and remains recognizable despite lineup changes thanks to the core around Pontus Hjelm. With material heading toward The Affliction (2024), the emphasis is on direct, tight songs in which groove and chorus never let go of each other.
