Info
Kula Shaker have always sounded like they were beaming in from somewhere slightly off the main timeline. While Britpop was busy with laddish swagger and retro poses, they came through with Sanskrit mantras, sitar lines and guitar feedback, turning the whole thing into a psychedelic trip rather than a nostalgia act. Led by the perpetually searching Crispian Mills, the band’s songs lock British psych-rock riffs to Indian textures and spiritual themes, where a hook can sit right next to a chant without blinking.
On 12 March 2027 at Albert Hall in Manchester, expect that trademark blend in full colour: tight, melodic rock built for singing along, then suddenly drifting into trancey grooves, drones and devotional refrains. From the rush of their ’90s breakthrough to the deeper cuts that lean into mysticism and repetition, Kula Shaker’s live set is made for losing the plot in the best possible way, together, in the dark.
