Info
The Undertones are returning to Paris on March 16, 2027 at L’Alhambra with the blend that has long defined them: punk energy, but always at the service of pop melodies that stay with you. Born in Derry in the mid-70s, they built their style on short formats, direct riffs and songs that speak of adolescence, everyday life and love stories, without any posturing.
On stage, you can hear the DNA of their early records, from the self-titled 1979 album to Hypnotised (1980), that nerve-wracking, ultra-rhythmic power pop that heads straight ahead. The band has also broadened its range over the years, with more crafted tracks and influences of pop and soul, before hitting the road again in the late 1990s with Paul McLoone on vocals, while keeping the essence: simple, effective songwriting, somewhere between punk rock, garage and power pop. A date tailor-made for punchy guitars and quick, catchy choruses.
