Info
Beoga bring their sharp, modern take on Irish trad to Empire Music Hall in Belfast on December 2, 2026. Formed in 2002, the Northern Irish ensemble has built a sound where jigs, reels and slower airs stay front and center, but get reshaped with tight group interplay and contemporary arrangements. Expect accordion lines driving the melodies, bodhrán rhythms keeping things earthy and direct, and piano and strings adding lift, texture and punch.
Over the years, Beoga have moved from pure acoustic precision to writing that’s more cross-pollinated, letting folk conversation with pop without losing the pull of the repertoire. That wider reach also took them into collaborations like their work with Ed Sheeran in 2017, which put their energy in front of a much broader audience. Live, it’s still about the rush of tunes, the groove, and the way the band locks together when the set takes off.
