Info
Beoga bring their sharp, modern take on Irish trad to Empire Music Hall in Belfast on December 4, 2026. Formed in 2002, the group has built its own language inside the tradition: jigs, reels and airs played with tight ensemble chemistry, punchy rhythm, and arrangements that keep the tunes moving without losing their roots. On stage, that balance is what hits first: the drive of bodhrán and accordion, the lift of strings, and a piano that pushes the melodies into something more open and contemporary.
Over the years, Beoga have stretched their sound from early acoustic precision through to more cross-genre writing, where the folk thread can brush up against pop phrasing while staying grounded in Irish repertoire. If you know them from their work connected to Ed Sheeran’s Galway Girl and Nancy Mulligan, this show is the chance to hear what sits behind that exposure: a band that treats tradition like a living thing, built for dancing feet and curious ears alike.
