Info
On April 24, 2027, at Northumbria Students’ Union in Newcastle upon Tyne, Sammy Rae & The Friends bring their Brooklyn-born collective to the stage, with special guests adding extra sparks along the way.
Built around singer-songwriter Samantha “Sammy Rae” Bowers, the band moves like a tight crew: horns up front, rhythm section locked in, keys filling the gaps, and plenty of voices joining in when the choruses hit. Their sound pulls from jazz-pop, soul and funk, with rock drive and a few folk-shaped turns, always leaning on ensemble arrangements rather than solo spotlight.
The set should naturally dip into the arc of their releases, from early EP energy through the touring, live-recorded momentum of The If It All Goes South Tour (Live), and the wider palette of Something For Everybody. Expect songs that tell stories, grooves that snap into place fast, and that feeling of a band playing as a group, not a backing track.
