Ripe comes to The Cluny in Newcastle upon Tyne on February 21, 2027, with a set built for the room: tight grooves, big choruses, and that live-first energy they’ve carried since forming in Boston back in 2011. Led by vocalist Robbie Wulfsohn, the band’s sound leans into funk, soul, alt-pop and pop-rock, with arrangements that keep the instruments up front and moving.
Their latest era, around the album Play The Game, pushes the collective spirit that’s always been at the core of Ripe: songs shaped like shared momentum, written and refined through collaboration rather than lone-wolf mythology. Expect flashes of Joy in the Wild Unknown’s early rush, the more direct pop turn of Bright Blues, and the kind of brass-laced lift that made their name onstage in the first place. This show is about connection, community, and a band that still plays like it started in a sweaty basement and never forgot why.
