Info
On October 3, 2026, Grupo Niche brings its big-band salsa machine back to London at British Airways ARC, nearly a decade after their last stop in the city. Founded in 1979 by Jairo Varela, the Colombian orchestra helped define the Cali sound with a punchy brass section, Afro-Caribbean percussion, and a rotating crew of vocalists built for call-and-response heat.
Expect a set that moves between salsa dura drive, more romantic cuts, and those street-level stories that made them a reference across Latin America. The classics are the backbone: Cali Pachanguero, Una Aventura, Sin Sentimiento, Gotas de Lluvia, plus the deep catalog that keeps dancers locked in.
In recent years they’ve kept the momentum with Grammy and Latin Grammy recognition for 40, a 2023 Latin Grammy for Niche Sinfónico, and newer material like Mas Que Palabras, which fits naturally into their live arrangements. Now led musically by José Aguirre, Grupo Niche keeps the original spirit intact: tight, loud, and made to be danced to.
