Info
On October 21, 2026, Angélique Kidjo is stopping by the Opéra National de Bordeaux for a concert that traverses her multiple musical territories. Born in Ouidah and having spent time in Paris before sharing her life between France and New York, the singer has built a sound where West African polyrhythms intersect with pop, soul, jazz, and Afro-Latin echoes. On stage, her voice shifts from one language to another, from Fon to Yoruba, with detours through French and English, as a way of letting histories and grooves dialogue.
This Bordeaux rendezvous promises a lively set, alternating between classics from her repertoire and more recent material, between songs crafted for collective trance and titles heavier with lyrics. Kidjo also likes to push boundaries by revisiting standards or giving nods to unexpected references, all while maintaining that highly physical energy that turns the concert into a grand rhythmic celebration.
