On February 9, 2027, at Assembly Leamington in Royal Leamington Spa, Tom Browne brings his 'Funkin’ For Jamaica' tour to the UK, backed by The Brit Funk Association for a night built around that sweet spot where jazz chops meet funk and R&B groove.
Browne broke through at the turn of the 80s with Browne Sugar and the Love Approach era, when “Funkin’ for Jamaica (N.Y.)” and “Thighs High (Grip Your Hips and Move)” turned his crisp, club-ready trumpet lines into instant dancefloor material. Expect a set that moves easily between slick jazz-funk improvisation and tight, radio-friendly grooves, with room for the deeper cuts that shaped his New York sound across the early 80s.
Onstage with him, The Brit Funk Association pull together key players from the UK scene (ex-Beggar & Co, Hi-Tension, Light of the World, Incognito), bringing that sharp Brit-funk backbone to Browne’s classics and beyond.
