Toploader come to Sheffield on October 2, 2026, for a night at Network 2 that taps into what they’ve always done best: big, piano-led British rock songs built for singing along. Formed in Eastbourne in the late 90s around Joseph Washbourn and Dan Hipgrave, the band blends alternative rock and pop rock with hints of soul and funk, keeping the focus on tight songwriting, warm grooves, and choruses that land fast.
Expect a set that nods to the era that put them on the map with Onka’s Big Moka, including the track that became their calling card, “Dancing in the Moonlight”, while leaving room for the later chapters too. After regrouping and getting back to recording with albums like Only Human and Seeing Stars, Toploader’s live shows have become a mix of familiar favourites and newer tunes that keep the same melodic drive.
