Info
Barenaked Ladies headline Electric Studios in Sheffield on 11 December 2026. Formed in 1988 in Scarborough near Toronto, the Canadian quartet has shaped a tuneful mix of alternative rock and pop, shaded with folk, close harmonies and fast-paced, witty lyrics. First noticed through indie cassette releases, they broke through at home with Gordon in 1992, then reached a wider audience with Stunt in 1998 and Maroon in 2000. After Steven Page’s departure in 2009, Ed Robertson, Kevin Hearn, Jim Creeggan and Tyler Stewart kept the momentum as a four-piece, moving between acoustic intimacy and punchy electric arrangements. The story continues with albums like Everything to Everyone, the twin sets Barenaked Ladies Are Me and Are Men, All in Good Time, Grinning Streak, Silverball, Fake Nudes and, more recently, Detour de Force, alongside the instantly recognisable theme for The Big Bang Theory. On stage, their mix of tight musicianship and quick-fire wordplay turns long-running favourites and newer cuts into a lively back-and-forth with the crowd.
Opening the night, Boothby Graffoe sets the tone with his offbeat songwriting and dry humour, a left-field warm-up that nudges the room into the right mood before the band take over.
