Casual and Pep Love, two of the standout voices of the underground collective Hieroglyphics, come together on stage for a live set focused on the art of flow and relay-style rhyming, a signature of the Oakland crew. Heirs to a West Coast rap that has always preferred soul and jazz loops to flashy showmanship, they carry this tight boom-bap sound where internal rhymes interlock and technique serves the narrative. From the spirit of Hieroglyphics Imperium to the classics of the 3rd Eye Vision era, the duo brings back a group energy, weaving urban imagery, pop references and a sense of collective spirit.
