Mac DeMarco returns to France and sets down his roots in Marseille on September 14, 2026 at the Silo, to perform Guitar live. On this minimalist folk album, available since August 22, 2025 via Mac's Record Label, the Canadian songwriter continues to move toward the essential: tight songs, writing true to life, and that distinctly his own way of letting melancholy sound without overdoing it. Entirely written and recorded in November 2024 at his home in Los Angeles, Guitar was produced with almost total autonomy. Mac DeMarco handled everything, from recording to mixing (finalized in Canada), to the visuals and the sleeve, all in DIY mode. Only the mastering was entrusted to David Ives. A project conceived as a snapshot, which he describes as the most faithful reflection of where he is today. Opening act: Vicky Farewell.
