Spineshank, long a key name in late-90s US metal, is best known for its nerve-spun blend of nu metal and industrial textures: taut riffs, programming, a well-oiled machine of a rhythm section, and vocals that shift from melodic to a more abrasive tension. Formed in Los Angeles in 1996, the band followed up with Strictly Diesel, The Height of Callousness and Self-Destructive Pattern, before a later return with Anger Denial Acceptance. Today, Spineshank is getting the machine back into gear on stage, driven by the direct energy of its writing and that compact, pounding sound that hits hard without wandering. Originating from Huntington Beach, California, (Hed) P.E. has built itself around Jared Gomes with a simple idea: to bring together the local punk/hardcore heritage and hip-hop influenced by G-funk, a blend the band has dubbed "G-punk." Rapcore, nu metal, punk rock, reggae, ska: anything can cross-pollinate, as long as it remains incisive and rhythmic. From Broke and Blackout to newer records like Stampede, Califas Worldwide or Detox, (Hed) P.E. keeps that taste for collage and reinvention. On October 13, 2026, they will share the bill at Bal Chavaux in Montreuil.
