Freak Slug returns to the stage on November 19, 2026 at Longboat Hall in Toronto. Behind this name lies Xenya Genovese, an artist trained in the fine arts who became self-taught in music, with a distinctive way of thinking about everything in one go: the voice, the lyrics, the iconography, the clips, the narration.
Her early short projects quickly set the scene, between pop references and web culture: Videos (2021), led by 'Radio', then I'm In Love (2022) and Viva La Vulva (2023). In 2024, she expands the format with I Blow Out Big Candles, a first feature-length work that functions as a coherent extension of her universe rather than a simple sequence of tracks.
Since 2025, the adventure has also been staged live, with a touring dynamic and appearances at several festivals. On stage, Freak Slug assembles this generational collage with direct writing, dry humor, and an energy that links the intimate, the body, and the signs of the internet without overdoing it.
