The Bluetones Acoustic arrives on December 10, 2026 at Jacaranda Baltic in Liverpool, for a tighter and more direct rendering of the cult Britpop band’s repertoire. Formed in Hounslow in the early 1990s around Mark Morriss, The Bluetones have always known how to fit a lot into songs that seem deceptively simple: bright guitars, clean melodies, a touch of melancholy, and that chorus hook that stays in the head without overdoing it. In acoustic form, their tracks take on another dimension, closer to songwriting and harmonies, without the electric heft. It’s an opportunity to (re)immerse in the band’s DNA, revisiting the albums that marked their most inspired period—Expecting to Fly, Return to the Last Chance Saloon, and Science & Nature—and to gauge how these songs stand up, even when stripped bare.
