On January 30, 2027, at Union Chapel in London, The Fabulous Thunderbirds bring their long-running Texas-bred blues to the stage, driven by the grainy voice and harmonica bite of Kim Wilson. The sole original member still at the helm, Wilson keeps the band’s sound tight and direct: electric blues with a swing of R&B, rock’n’roll snap and a touch of soul. From early cult records to the breakthrough of Tuff Enuff and its punchy singles, their set pulls from decades of shuffle, grooves and no-frills riffs, built around a rhythm section that leaves plenty of space for the harp to talk.
Opening the night, Nine Below Zero strip things back with an acoustic set. A key name from the UK pub-rock and R&B circuit, the band’s songs lean on Dennis Greaves’ sharp songwriting and a feel for fast-paced blues that’s always meant for the stage.
