Elder Island

Elder Island bring their Bristol-bred blend of electronica and indie pop to Band on the Wall, Manchester, on 31 October 2026. The trio — Katy Sargent, Luke Thornton and David Havard — shape songs in layers, with supple rhythms and a grounded low end framing Sargent’s voice. Their palette moves through downtempo sway, vaporous synths and flickers of funk, building grooves that shift gradually rather than break hard. Live, the production stays hands-on: bass loops thicken, guitars sketch subtle patterns, percussion opens the pulse, and vocals stay central while textures evolve in real time.

The set draws from The Omnitone Collection (2019) and Swimming Static (2020), alongside pieces informed by their time between venues and club spaces. Repetition and detail do the heavy lifting, trading in steady momentum over big eruptions. Expect a line traced from intimate, voice-led passages to more dancefloor-leaning sections, always keeping a balance between atmosphere and groove, with arrangements that leave space for breath and movement.
