On 17 April 2027, Jordan Rakei brings his hybrid soul-jazz universe to Albert Hall in Manchester. Born in Tokoroa, raised in Brisbane and based in London since 2015, he’s built a sound where contemporary soul, alternative R&B, jazz harmony and discreet electronic textures sit on the same groove. On stage, his songs are driven by voice, keys and guitar, with syncopated rhythms and tight arrangements that leave room for nuance as much as for pulse. From early releases like Groove Curse to albums such as Cloak, Wallflower, Origin, What We Call Life and The Loop, he keeps shaping a live set that moves between introspection and forward motion, always grounded in production detail and melodic clarity.
Opening the night, London-based singer, songwriter and guitarist Olive Jones navigates between soul, folk and modern pop. Carried by a warm voice, delicate guitar lines and intimate writing, her songs lean into themes of love, vulnerability and resilience, with subtle harmonies that fit naturally alongside Rakei’s refined grooves.
