Angine de Poitrine

Angine de Poitrine is the instrumental duo of Klek and Khn de Poitrine, active since 2023 and rooted in Quebec’s experimental rock scene. Their writing moves between math rock, angular post-punk and the kind of repetitive mechanics you might hear in certain strands of techno. Live, their pieces build and retract in cycles: short motifs stack up, then fall away; a dry, precise drum sound holds the line while guitar and bass explore microtonal tunings. Chromatic phrases slip in to add quiet tension, and asymmetrical forms keep the ground shifting underfoot. With no vocals, the focus is on motion, variation and rhythmic displacement, a language that stays tight, abrupt and, at times, straight to the body.

After releasing Vol. 1 in 2024, Angine de Poitrine moved quickly across Quebec stages, including festival dates like the Montreal International Jazz Festival. That journey has shaped a set where rock energy meets a more minimal, evolving sense of repetition. At Troxy, London, on 19 October 2026, the duo presents this approach in a show that turns patterns into momentum, plays with tuning and form, and lets the groove do the talking.
