Info
Deacon Blue bring their Glasgow-born pop-rock songwriting to The Piece Hall, Halifax, on 8 July 2026. Led by Ricky Ross with the unmistakable harmonies of Lorraine McIntosh, the band has shaped radio and stage with storytelling that runs from Raintown’s city sketches to the rush of Real Gone Kid. Live, they thread open choruses with soul-tinged keys and guitars, moving easily between Dignity, Fergus Sings the Blues and later cuts that keep their catalogue in motion. The sound balances warmth and punch, carried by a rhythm section built for singalongs and slow-burners alike.
Joining them, The Lightning Seeds roll out Ian Broudie’s finely tuned pop craft. Born as a studio project and now very much a live formation, they deal in melody-first gems and clean-lined arrangements, the kind that stick after a single pass. The Life of Riley, Lucky You and Change sit alongside Three Lions, but the core of the set stays anchored in that bright, jangling blend of guitars and synths Broudie has shaped across the years, equal parts breezy and precise.
