Courteeners bring their Manchester-rooted indie rock to OVO Hydro, Glasgow on 20 November 2026. Formed in Middleton in 2006 around singer-guitarist Liam Fray with Michael Campbell and Daniel Moores, the group has since welcomed producer-bassist Joe Cross and, more recently, keyboardist Elina Lin. Their writing mixes direct, melodic songs with a clear British lineage, stretching from post-Britpop and post-punk revival grit to more synth-tinged textures. A catalogue that runs from St. Jude, Falcon and Anna through Concrete Love and Mapping the Rendezvous to More. Again. Forever. and Pink Cactus Café underpins a sound that’s solidly anchored in Manchester’s identity, shaped on big stages at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, and TRNSMT.
Joining them, The Lathums, from Wigan, carry the tradition of Northern guitar bands with clean lines, immediate hooks and a balance between stripped acoustic ballads and brisk pop-rock energy. Emerging in 2018, they quickly moved from self-released singles to a run of EPs and three albums: How Beautiful Life Can Be, From Nothing to a Little Bit More and Matter Does Not Define. Along the way they’ve crossed paths with Paul Weller, Blossoms and The Killers, honing songs that keep melody front and centre for a live setting like this Glasgow date.
