The Lilacs bring their Wigan-bred indie rock to SWG3 Glasgow on March 6, 2027. Built for the stage, the quartet leans on straight-to-the-point guitars, tight rhythm sections and choruses designed to be shouted back, in that classic British live-band tradition. Fronted by Ollie Anglesea, with Sam Birchall on guitar, Dave Gomersall on drums and Matt Johnson on bass, they’ve been sharpening their sound through constant touring across the UK independent circuit, from Manchester’s Albert Hall to rooms in the O2 Academy network and festival bills like Isle of Wight.
Expect a set that sits between indie rock and melodic pop-rock, energetic without being messy, with songs that move fast and land clean. Early calling card “Vicarage Road” still captures their DNA: immediate hooks, a direct sense of songwriting, and a band that plays like it means it.
