The Proclaimers

The Proclaimers bring their close-knit harmonies and straight-talking songs to Swansea Arena on 8 November 2026. Formed in 1983 by twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, the Scottish duo first made their mark with acoustic guitars and unvarnished delivery, then broadened into a lean folk-rock sound. Their music threads folk, roots and pop with a pulse borrowed from punk, and that distinctive Scottish accent sits at the heart of it all.

Early albums This Is the Story (1987) and Sunshine on Leith (1988) pushed them into the spotlight with Letter from America, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) and Sunshine on Leith. The path since has been steady and curious: Hit the Highway (1994), a return with Persevere (2001), Born Innocent (2003) recorded with Edwyn Collins, then Life with You (2007), Notes & Rhymes (2009), Like Comedy (2012), Angry Cyclist (2018) and Dentures Out (2022). Across four decades, they’ve kept a clear line between personal tales, social sketches and songs with a political edge.

On stage, the Reid brothers trade voices and stories with the same directness that built their following, moving from sing-along staples to recent cuts without fuss. Whether pared-back or backed by a band, the focus stays on melody, tight harmonies and choruses made to be shared.
