Sports bring their slow-burning indie pop and R&B-tinged grooves to The Garage, London, on 24 October 2026. Formed in Oklahoma in the mid-2010s, the project revolves around singer and songwriter Cale Chronister and multi-instrumentalist Christian Theriot. Early EPs Naked All the Time and People Can’t Stop Chillin’ (2015) sketched a lo-fi palette of warm keys, soft-rock hues and unhurried melodies that found an audience online. After relocating to Los Angeles, the duo pushed toward a cleaner, more detailed production, folding in 70s/80s synth tones, discreet funk and minimalist R&B rhythms.

On stage, Sports translate these studio textures with a compact live band, favoring subtle rearrangements, bass-forward grooves and vocals kept upfront. Cuts from Get A Good Look Pt. 1 (2021) and Pt. 2 (2022) sit next to earlier tracks, tracing the group’s path from bedroom atmospheres to a more polished yet intimate sound. Expect a set that moves between soul-leaning synth-pop, soft-rock ballads and airy R&B, with space for dynamics and detail. Special guests join the bill for the night.
