The Streets return to their hometown at O2 Academy Birmingham on 22 August 2026. Mike Skinner’s project has been shaping UK rap and garage since the early 2000s, turning everyday scenes into tight, street‑level narratives. The set draws from Original Pirate Material and A Grand Don’t Come for Free with tracks like Dry Your Eyes, Fit But You Know It and Blinded by the Lights, and folds in recent material from The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light.
On stage, Skinner moves between rap, UK garage and electronica, sliding from confessional cuts to dancefloor‑facing moments with the ease of a DJ and the timing of a storyteller. Lyrics stay clear and direct over unfussy beats, carried by that conversational flow that defines The Streets. Back in Birmingham, these chronicles return close to where they were first sketched, reworked live with a band, samples and lean new arrangements.
