Médine « Enfants du destin »

Médine presents Enfants du destin on 19 November 2026 at the Espace Malraux in Joué-lès-Tours. He revisits a recurring series in his repertoire, which began in 2004, in which children's voices recount the upheavals of history: colonization, wars, slavery, oppression. Behind each event is a face and a first name — David, Souhan, Kunta Kinte, Nour or Yasser — who carry memory and bridge past and present. In an acoustic, intimate setting, Médine assumes the role of storyteller and lays his texts bare, accompanied on piano and guitar by Guillaume Zolnierowsky, and by the voice and cello of Shéhérazade.

On stage, Karinale Lo van Zaouiche makes occasional interventions, opens fissures and establishes a dialogue that derails the narrative just enough. Laetitia Botella’s staging carves out a space between concert and theatre, where speech flows and prompts reflection. Music by Proof, adapted by Redzol and Shéhérazade: Enfants du destin plays out as a narrative journey, a hybrid form that confronts individual stories with the broader movements of the world.
