Info
Sam Sauvage arrives at La Carène, Brest, on 12 March 2027 with his alternative pop shaped by ’80s rock, new wave and a very contemporary lyricism. A self-taught singer-songwriter from northern France, he carves out songs with direct, visual writing, carried by a compelling voice and a production that is at once retro and contemporary. Brought to light by a self-titled debut EP on Cinq 7, he forges a personal path between the shadow of Bashung, the rhythmic angles of Talking Heads and a storytelling sense in the manner of Stromae, without copying anyone.
On stage, Sam favors tension and movement. Tight riffs, nervous drum machines, synths with Eighties hues: he raises the pressure in subtle doses, between raw energy and restrained melancholy. The songs settle like paintings, with sharp breaks, off-beats and a diction that plays with the text as much as with the beat. His presence pulls the show toward something almost theatrical, without diverting attention from the music.
At La Carène, expect a lively set where electronics meet angular guitars, mixing signature tracks and new material rearranged for the stage. A form of French songwriting that isn’t afraid of groove, vivid imagery and rhythmic twists—conceived for the live experience more than for the décor.
