Info
Julien Clerc brings to the stage a set that sums up his long trajectory: from his early years to the present. The French singer and pianist has built, since the late 1960s, a repertoire in which romance and modern flourishes come together. With lyrics by, among others, Étienne Roda‑Gil, Jean‑Loup Dabadie, Carla Bruni and Maxime Le Forestier, songs such as “Ce n’est rien”, “Femmes, je vous aime”, “Ma préférence”, “Mélissa” and “Fais‑moi une place” have become staples across multiple generations. Live, he alternates rich arrangements with intimate moments at the piano, delivering clear diction and a restrained emotion that carry his songs.
On 25 January 2027 he will perform at the Théâtre Royal in Mons. The concert outlines the contours of a career spanning more than fifty years without remaining mired in retrospection: classics and more recent work naturally find their place there, guided by melody and lyric. Clerc seeks closeness with the audience, lets familiar refrains resound and makes space for the stories behind the songs. A meeting with the heart of French chanson, in a form that still lives vividly on stage.
