Suzanne Vega

The American singer-songwriter from Santa Monica made her name in the 1980s within modern folk with spare, literary songs that combine urban observation and personal storytelling. Inspired by figures such as Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed, she developed a clear, restrained style in which every word counts.
