Chastity is the project of Canadian musician Brandon Williams, rooted in suburban Whitby, Ontario and shaped by the punk scenes of southern Ontario. Emerging in the mid‑2010s with DIY tapes and EPs, the band has built a sound that blends punk, post‑hardcore, indie rock and a faint shoegaze haze. Death Lust (2018) set the tone with dense guitars and direct melodies; Home Made Satan (2019) leaned into tighter, more pop‑coded structures without dropping the underlying tension; Suffer Summer (2022) opened up to brighter textures while circling themes of precarity, mental health and social disillusion. Live, these contrasts land in compact songs that move between urgency and drift, with hooks that stay close to the bone.
