Info
On May 12, 2026, at the Supersonic (12th arrondissement, Paris), Great Lake Swimmers takes the stage with its folk-rock from Ontario. The project, led by songwriter Tony Dekker (vocals, guitar), made a name for itself in Toronto as early as 2003, propelled by intimate songwriting, spare acoustic arrangements and a pronounced taste for resonant spaces. Somewhere between Neil Young, Songs: Ohia and a chiaroscuro brand of indie folk, their songs move in measured steps, a gentle lead vocal to the fore and guitars that paint expansive landscapes.
After a self-titled debut and Bodies and Minds, Great Lake Swimmers has patiently refined this sound that privileges space and nuance. Their ninth album, Caught Light, recorded in an abandoned church, a barn and a chapel, continues this exploration of timbral color and natural ambience. On stage, that sense of detail is evident: restrained tempos, velvety harmonies and clear melodies that take their time. Opening act: Romy Liz Rose.
