On April 21, 2026, Sarah Kinsley brings her art-pop universe to The Mod Club, 722 College Street in Toronto. A New York–based singer, songwriter and producer, trained on piano and violin, she builds songs where voice, strings, keyboards and electronic textures unfold in evolving structures. Early EPs The King and Cypress sketched the contrast between intimate ballads and more propulsive tracks, followed by Ascension in 2023. Her first full-length, Escaper (2024), ties these threads into a more narrative frame, with melodic refrains and detailed production shaped end-to-end by Kinsley. On stage, she adapts this palette with a compact set-up that keeps the dynamics and the DIY edge of her studio work.
Also on the bill, Charlie Burg comes from the Detroit indie scene with a songwriting that blends alternative pop, contemporary soul and indie-leaning R&B. Known for a trilogy of EPs that led to the album Infinitely Tall in 2022, he writes about relationships and everyday transitions with a flexible voice and melodic arrangements. Guitars, keys and close harmonies anchor his live format, focused on groove and interaction. A pairing that draws two sides of the current US pop spectrum on the same stage at The Mod Club.
