Nile Rodgers & CHIC bring their grooves to L'Amphithéâtre 3000 in Lyon on 25 June 2026. Guitarist, songwriter and producer, and cofounder of CHIC, Nile Rodgers has shaped much of the pop, disco and funk soundtrack of recent decades, both on stage and in the studio.
With his 1959 Fender and a precise, syncopated style, he has crafted instantly recognizable riffs. With CHIC, he composed "Le Freak" and "Good Times," tracks that have defined dance music and influenced the early days of hip‑hop. Flexible bass lines, unifying backing vocals, rhythmic elegance: CHIC's musical vocabulary is made for dancing.
As a producer and co‑writer for others, he worked with David Bowie on "Let's Dance," Madonna on "Like a Virgin," and Duran Duran on "The Reflex," while writing "We Are Family" for Sister Sledge and "I'm Coming Out" for Diana Ross. More recently, he reunited with Daft Punk for "Get Lucky" and crossed paths with Beyoncé on "Cuff It."
His career has been recognized by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, as well as by multiple Grammy Awards in his roles as songwriter, composer, producer, arranger and guitarist.
On stage, CHIC delivers a tight set, mixing the group's classics with songs produced by Rodgers, driven by a solid rhythm section and luminous vocals. In Lyon, it's the ideal occasion to measure the impact of straightforward, direct songwriting.
