Pierre-Emmanuel Barré returns to the stage with Come-Back, a show that takes as its raw material his own supposed decline. The French comedian dissects the tricks of showbiz, questions his place in a landscape saturated with punchlines and outrage, and lays his doubts on the table. Between self-criticism and satire, he assembles text, visual effects, sound and deliberately makeshift props, like an editing suite in plain view. He subverts the trade’s tics, allows himself flubs, retakes and confessions, and turns the notion of collapse into a performative device. No flashy posturing—rather a clear-eyed look at an era where everything moves fast, gets recycled and goes out of date in no time. Come-Back resembles a stage laboratory where one tests what a comedian can still say and how to say it. Pierre-Emmanuel Barré will present this project at the Bataclan in Paris on May 15, 2026.
