Info
Punch Brothers return to Paris on January 20, 2027, at the Bataclan to present The Unsung Adventures of Punch Brothers, the quintet’s seventh album and their first entirely instrumental record. Led by mandolinist Chris Thile, the group today brings together Chris Eldridge (guitar), Paul Kowert (double bass), Noam Pikelny (banjo) and Brittany Haas (violin), who joined in 2023.
Touring under the banner of the Unsung European Expedition, the band draws on a fresh repertoire in which eight original compositions sit alongside three rearranged traditional tunes. The aesthetic remains the one that has defined them since 2006: bluegrass in motion, nourished by chamber-music writing, acoustic folk and country, with detours into rock and classical. Precise ensemble playing, tight interplay, melodies that unfold without artifice: the acoustic is at the center.
Grammy winners for All Ashore in 2018, Punch Brothers recently released Hell on Church Street, a tribute to Tony Rice and his Church Street Blues. On stage, the lineup with Haas emphasizes violin–mandolin dialogues and rhythmic architectures propelled by the banjo and double bass. A date to hear the band explore its instrumental sound in the present, in Paris.
